The Folly Beach Wahine Classic (FBWC) is an annual surf contest hosted at the iconic surf destination, the Washout on Folly Beach, South Carolina.
With around 250 competitors and countless more families, fans, and followers, FBWC is the longest-running girls surf contest on the East Coast and South Carolina’s only all-female surf contest!
The mission of the FBWC is to share the strength of surfer women (wahines) of all ages and abilities through a fun weekend of surf competition and camaraderie.
We strive for a plastic-free, low-waste event with support from our amazing sponsors and partners.
The FBWC showcases women surfing to celebrate the potential within girls and women of all ages and abilities.
Boys and girls alike volunteer their time before, during, and after the event to raise awareness of the challenges that all women face, some more than others, in the form of more poverty, social exclusion, discrimination, and violence than the general population.
We make a difference by showing girls and their families that women are amazing.
We are eager to expand our outreach and collaborate with ocean-based non-profits that embrace our mission to share the power of women of all ages and abilities.
Promotional exposure, sharing the strength of women, and a sense of fulfillment are just a few benefits to becoming a sponsor for the Folly Beach Wahine Classic.
You can catch us riding the waves at the Washout on Folly Beach located on E Ashley Ave.
